Tampa here we are…

We left Jacksonville in nice weather but with threat of thunderstorms along the way … Yep! mega thunder showers, but much needed here in Florida. Anyway, arrived unscathed at MacDill AFB in Tampa. We’ve been here before (in the ’80s) but never on the campsite. What a spot! on the tip of Tampa and with so much beautiful green space around us and so many places to walk (or play golf, if one was so inclined). Anyway, we met up with old friends from Saudi days – Bob and Wanda MacPherson and, today, spent a lovely day with them showing us around St. Pete (St. Petersburg to the uninitiated). Our first stop was Mazzaro’s (Wanda, is, like me, an avid cook and grocery shopper!)

How cool are they?? Look for them on Robbins Road

Lunch at “The Hangar” with views of the small, St. Pete (private) airport.
