We fired up the wood-fired oven – July 14, 2012

We chose one of the hottest days of the year to invite the family and Sandy and John over to test out our, as yet, unused wood-fired oven! Nonetheless, it was both delicious and lots of fun!

then when it had cooled to about 400 degrees, the bread went in

If we’d REALLY planned ahead, we would have had a casserole ready to go in after the bread, as it was still registering at over 300 degrees after seven hours.

I definitely look forward to doing it again when the temps are lower than 90!
