We were absolutely mesmerized by the foaming and crashing surf at Pringle Bay, but tore ourselves away and set off following the coast toward Cape Town.
We literally hugged the coast line and followed it up and down and around to the Cape of Good Hope stopping in Kalk Bay for a break at Cape to Cuba – a very funky bar and restaurant overlooking the fishing boats docked in the harbor.
And then along the most breathtaking cliff hugging Chapman’s Peak drive and across the Camps Bay Drive to Cape Town and our hotel in the “Garden” area (just beneath Table Mountain) on Derwent Road.
Our room at the Derwent House Hotel, as has been the case all along, is lovely and we have a nice balcony with views of the city and Table Mountain. Dinner at Manna Epicure on Kloof St., just a short walk away, delicious oxtail stew over creamed polenta and beef schnitzel.
