Paris

We had an unexpected ending to our boat trip. Arriving at the Locoboat port we discovered it was in the middle of nowhere and about 8km from Corbigny, and, being a Sunday, there wasn’t a soul in sight! Kathleen, bless her, attempted to contact several taxi companies leaving messages in her halting French!

Four of us needed transport at 9AM (by taxi) to Nevers (to continue to Lyon), and four of us needed a 9AM cab to the Corbigny station to travel to Paris. A woman returned the taxi call and we arranged to be picked up at 6PM for dinner. Meanwhile – we all decided to pack up and leave the boat for a hotel in Corbigny where we would be ready to go in the morning!!!!! Hustle, hustle! Suitcases were packed, frig emptied, bed linens and towels bundled up, trash and empty bottles removed! We made it!!! And had a relaxing evening at Hotel Buissonniere in Corbigny! And made all our departures for our trains!

We went directly to Charles de Gaulle airport where we said goodbye to Judy and Rick who were flying out that evening, and we checked in to the funky CitizenM Hotel. What a fun vibe it has! Dropped our bags and took a bus back to Paris.

We headed for St. Germain and Pont Neuf area and I was really hoping to get inside Notre Dame. Success! Only five minutes wait (without reservation). So glad I did it – it is truly magnifique!

Dinner at a little Osteria on a side street away from the madding crowds! Yes! It was crowded with tourists! I had a different kind of ravioli – stuffed with eggplant flavored with cumin in a tomato cream sauce – India meets Italy! So delicious!

Back to the hotel for the night and an easy flight back to Montreal at 9AM.
