We all arrived in Joigny, bought provisions (to include 18 bottles of wine!), loaded up the boat – the St. Aignan – returned the rental cars and spent a relaxing evening at the Locoboat dock in Joigny.
So who do you think the real Captains are?
On Tuesday we set off on the River Yonne at about 5 knots heading upstream. all hands are on deck with a couple of steersman, line women on the bow and stern, and others available with hook and pusher in case we get too close to the edge of the locks.
The locks on the river were large and mechanized.
