We spent an enjoyable couple of hours at Playa del Socorro – one of the black sand beaches nearby. Paddling in the surf was refreshing and watching the surfers was entertaining.
Another sweet spot is San Juan de la Rambla. The little village, surrounded by banana plantations, wends its way down the hillside to the ocean.
