to Taos through rugged countryside and villages with a stop at Santuario Chimayo – maybe the Lourdes of New Mexico?
interesting sights along the way. We couldn’t work out what this sluice was for – other than to get water from one side of the road to the other, but it is very cool ..
Various stops at Artist Cooperatives – resisted purchases! beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains – we were probably at 10 or 11,000 feet (no cell coverage to get altitude).
And on to Taos ..
with lunch at the Five Star Burger, which really was excellent! I had the meatless version, which was even better!
and then home, to Santa Fe, via the low road, which was really quite beautiful traversing the Rio Grande Gorge down, and down, and down.
