The train ride on Devil’s Nose mountain. Instead of National gating the hairpin bends in one direction, it switches lines and continues down or up in opposite direction (engine either pushing or pulling) until it reaches the next bend!

Hacienda de Andaluza- a fabulous, rambling hacienda filled with antiques and I retesting collections. Peacocks and bunnies in the grounds. A spectacular meal of trout steamed in banana leaf and served in bamboo. To top it all – great musicians playing Andean music on traditional instruments. (Riobamba)
