To celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary we took off for Peaks Island – a short ferry ride from Portland, Maine. Little did we imagine that the temperatures on June 29th would be in the mid-90’s!
We made the best of it and before hopping on the ferry took a little tour around the South Portland coastline visiting Bug Light …
… and Two Lights state park.
Peaks is the quintessential Maine island – cute cottages, some gardens immaculately tended and others left to their own devices; people cycling the winding lanes in their swimsuits; dogs enjoying the beaches – as did Ffly! Lobster boats, sail boats, kayaks and schooners sailing off shore.
