The Annapolis Valley is Nova Scotia’s fruit basket. During the entire drive along the peaceful valley one sees farms with cattle grazing, hay bales, fruit orchards, and vineyards.
We stayed on the Annapolis river bank in Bridgetown (where our friends live). Ffly’s first escapade was somehow? to end up in the river after falling? sliding? jumping down the sheer 12 foot bank in to the river! Guess who waded in from a low point and coaxed her out???
The Saturday market in Annapolis Royal is always worth a visit.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with our friends and their friends, whom we have known for over 20 years, and were heartily welcomed back to Nova Scotia. This delicious cake baked by Gudrun!
Onward to Five Islands Provincial Park and, once again we hit the jackpot with our campsite which overlooked the Minas Basin (Fundy) and we could enjoy watching the tide fill the basin and then retreat.
We ventured down to the flats at low tide and walked to a craggy point and back. We were all pretty muddy by the time we returned!
