Icod de los Vinos and Finca de la Musica

Icod, in the northern part of the island, is a traditional local coastal town. It climbs up from the ocean with terraced vegetable farms and vi shards. We wandered the narrow streets and visited two of the major landmarks – the ancient Dragon Tree and the Banana Museum.

Bjorn’s and Zoli’s Finca de la Musica sits high in the hills overlooking Icod and the Atlantic. They moved here, from Germany, in April and have achieved amazing results in the renovation and modernizing the vacation rental apartments. Each one is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated to represent a music form – we were in “classic”. www.finca-de-la-Musica.com

Their wedding on September 14th was so much fun. Friends from Germany had come to help them prepare and, Wolfgang, my old friend and Bjorn’s father was also there. Fun times!

Puerto de la Cruz

The Puerto de la Cruz waterfront also has volcanic pools plus a very large complex of salt water pools with a promenade

.

We drove to the Bodega Monje winery in the hills above Puerto de la Cruz. A beautiful spot with interesting art exhibits.
