Valparaiso, Chile

We disembarked in Valparaiso and decided to spend a couple of nights before heading over to Santiago. We found nice B&B accomodations at the Brighton B&B located high above the town in a charming district with homes and buildings built from brightly painted corrugated (old shipping container material). The area is being gentrified and there are numerous boutique hotels, cafes, restaurants, and of course, the magnificent views of the Pacific.

Meanwhile,  the main city of Valparaiso is bustling and busy.

We were lucky enough to be hanging around in the cool plaza outside the cathedral on Sunday afternoon and see this wonderful dance display by some of the local dance groups. It was made even more special by the fact that we were the only gringos in sight! click here to see a colourful slideshow.
