The morning started with a walk through the narrow black and white cobblestone streets of Ponta Delgada.
We took a long 54 km (drive for Sao Miguel) to have a picnic for two at Maradouro da Ponta do Sossego – a beautifully manicured mini-park/lookout point overlooking the majestic cliffs of the Nordeste part of the island.
This time we didn’t go all the way down to view the Farol del Arnel (lighthouse), but enjoyed it from atop!
Back in Ponta Delgada we attempted to eat at Tasca, but without a reservation it was impossible. Next time! However, eating a hamburger (portobello for me) al fresco at Cafe Central, and watching the people, dressed in their finest emerge from evening mass, and people watching in general was a fun and relaxing way to spend the evening.
