We accomplished much with both of us putting in a solid 12-hours of work. The place is now much less like a construction site, but had its first proper cleaning and a major tidying up. Fireplace was installed last week – thanks to friends – and it was oh so pleasant spending the evening with a roaring fire.

Bouquets from the garden – Spring-Summer-Fall
Our first overnighter at Camp
We had our first overnight at the camp with all mod cons – to include hot water! The space exudes good energy and it feels very comfortable even though there is still much to complete! Lucy and Ceilidh settled right in!
Huge thanks to Agnita and Henk for all that they passed on to us when they returned to NL. The freshly washed slipcover on the couch and the cushions on the IKEA chair make them look like new!
Schoolhouse Supper at The Hub
We enjoyed one of the best meals EVER at one of Maine Farmland Trust’s Schoolhouse Suppers at their beautiful venue – The Hub – in Unity (a restored former schoolhouse).
Chef Anders Tallberg of Roustabout in Portland served up a veritable Italian feast using the freshest of fresh produce.
Maine summer = enjoying MORE visitors!
This summer we’ve been blessed with visits from family and friends – from within the USA and from across the pond.
Family fun
Some of the grandkids, Lucy, Chris and Reuben from England …. so nice to be together for cookout, s’mores and croquet (on a parched lawn)
!
Maine summer = enjoying visitors
Henk and Agnita’s visit wouldn’t be complete without blueberry pancakes and a trip to 3Tides!
Our Dutch kids are here!
So happy to have our Dutch family here again – after two years – especially for pizza and ‘smores – a tradition!

Summer days in Belfast with the little guys
It was a beautiful morning for a walk to Steamboat Landing and the little guys walked from the footbridge to the boathouse. Lucy and Moxie enjoyed a cooling frolic in the bay.
Back home fun in the water continued ..
Belfast Summer Evenings – June
Another of those perfect summer evenings spent doing things we love in our home town, and where everyone and everything is bathed in the magical golden light of summer.
Starting out with ” lobstah” at Young’s – a traditional Maine lobster pound….
Followed by the weekly Summer Nights music at Steamboat Landing….
An evening stroll on the Harbor Walk and footbridge….
