It was a beautiful drive through Payson, Pine, Strawberry, Camp Verde, Cottonwood and Sedona.
We arrived at Cave Springs campground in the Coconino National Forest. North of the craziness of Sedona, among the tall ponderosa pines, backing up to red rock cliffs and next to the creek – heaven!
We climbed up a twisting turning road to 7000 feet.
