Cave Dwellings

This morning we set off early to visit the cave dwellings at Tonto National Monument.

The cliff dwellings are remnants of the Salado culture. They lived in these parts in the 1300s as a community sharing tasks, raising families, and trading pottery and textiles.

Views and some of the desert flora.

From there we took another dirt trail to Apache Lake with more beautiful views along the way.
