We awoke this morning to the sight of a hot air balloon passing by.

It is the entire historic center that won San Miguel the UNESCO World Heritage designation and because of that buildings must be painted in one of 13 earth-tone shades. Facades can be restored, but not altered. The majority of the properties are lovingly restored; they have beautiful doors – often of mesquite wood; some have rooftop gardens and many have beautiful ceramic pots filled with lavender or other decorative plants.

Hasta luego!
Great photography!
