Isafjordur, Iceland

Translation: Ice fjord. We are just 34 miles south of the Arctic Circle.

A small fishing town of some 2,700 in the Westfjords region. Most of the older houses with either metal or fiber glass siding replacing what would have formerly been wood; some with cute, decorative trim work.

The small harbor is surrounded by craggy mountains with not a tree in sight.

Sweater keeping one of the columns warm!

  1. Love the vivid colors, just what’s needed in such a place. No trees would be hard for me. I’ve always been surrounded by growth, forest, etc. Looks pretty barren. Of course, beautiful in its own way.
