Plitvice National Park

Today we had a lovely drive through the mountains to Plitvice National Park.

The Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and the largest national park in Croatia. It was declared the first national park of the Republic of Croatia as early as 8 April 1949. The series of lakes are formed by the formation of tufa which creates barriers. The falls were amazing probably especially so because just a week ago there was a surprising 2 meters of snow up there and the park was closed.
