A girls’ weekend in Quebec City

On a bitterly cold morning we started our tour of the walled city at Chateau Frontenac.

We’d been looking forward to whizzing down the antique toboggan run at speeds of up to 50mph, but it wasn’t to be – there was insufficient snow and it was not open!

Welcome warming stops at the church of the Ursulines and the catholic cathedral (left).

A very unusual bathroom and hand washing station at restaurant La Buche!

The reason for coming! The German Christmas market and some gluhwein! Remembering our good times in Wiesbaden and Michelstadt.

The gang of 6!

The Basillica of St. Anne de Beaupre where we attended Sunday morning Mass. The church is known and has been credited by the Catholic Church as a place where healing miracles have occurred.

The frozen falls of Montmerency.

Lunch at Soup & Coe. We ended the weekend back at Chateau Frontenac for cocktails.

Sue has become very taken with the Lords Frontenac and Champlain and their legends!
