We left our tour group after drinks on the rooftop deck and a dinner and picked up our little Fiat.
We took the coastal route from Catania to Messina passing through lovely seaside villages and beautiful vistas.
After a quick 20-minute ferry ride we were in Villa San Giovanni.
After a fairly short drive we arrived at Villa Sul Mare in Melito di Porto Salvo. Our B&B host suggested we visit Pentedattilo – a semi-ghost town clinging to the rocks.
