Museum day – today

Santa Fe has absolutely fantastic museums and we purchased a four-museum card. Today we visited the delightful and unique International Folk Art Museum. There were special exhibits of Japanese kites and Brazilian folk art. The regular display is ridiculous!! So huge and amusing.
The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture is next door, and very worthwhile, too. The special display of photographs of Indians was excellent. Just down the road is the Wheelwright Museum, the smallest and only non-state-run of the group, and probably my favorite with a small but special display of Navajo weavings. Downstairs is the Case Trading Post, a premier shop for pottery, jewelry and other Native American arts and crafts. This museum is really a gem.

… and then we treated ourselves!
