When cruising eastwards and looking out over expansive white sand beaches with sparkling water it is hard to imagine how it might look when a hurricane is raging and the ravages it wreaks.
We found a dog friendly beach in Ocean Springs where Ffly dove into the water and continued to swim and retrieve a piece of driftwood to the amusement of others nearby.
It feels so wonderful to have bare feet in this silky, soft sand after wearing socks and boots for several months.
We continued to Gulf Islands National Seashore – a lovely park with live oak, lowland marshes and a campground which we’ll investigate for the future.
