Adieu Pelican Roost – Mayport Navy Station

We’ve had a wonderfully relaxing month tucked in to what we consider the best site in the RV park (#45) – secluded, palms providing shade, and a view of the channel where we can see ships coming and going.

The endless sand beach is just a short walk away and we’ve taken advantage of long walks every day – even when windy and chilly. Ffly has had the time of her life running, wave surfing, and being a big sandy mess! She is used to being showered down every time we come back to the RV.

We see people fishing both on the breakwater rocks and the beach from early morning until evening.

There are some lovely trails and preserves nearby – this one Dutton Preserve.

In Mayport village – on the other side of the base, is Safe Harbor seafood restaurant and shop. The most delicious, fresh Mayport shrimp ever!

How Ffly spends her evenings and night!!!

  1. While I enjoy all your photos, my favorites are of Ffly. I cannot image a dog having a better life. She may come back as a human next lifetime.

I felt 50% better today, the flu is leaving, no pun intended. Sickest I’ve been ina long time.
