Mainland New Brunswick during COVID

We caught two ferries from Campobello to Deer Island to Letete on the mainland to avoid going back into the USA and falling under the COVID restrictions! Of course, the ferry rides were beautiful as we passed granite rock islands smothered in spruce, pine and fir (like in Maine).

We arrived at the beautiful New River provincial park with a stunning strip of sand beach.

We hiked the rugged and, at times, marshy trail to Barnaby Point – beautiful coastal vistas along the way and gorgeous deep green moss slightly inland. Despite their efforts to put in boardwalks, mud and boggy terrain prevailed and I ended up with sopping wet feet! All part of the adventure!

Ffly enjoyed a first swim and then a second to get cleaned off!!

We experienced another bog area. The variety of plant life growing is amazing.
