Bay of Fundy (New Brunswick)

We have been on the Nova Scotia side of the Bay of Fundy many times, but have never visited Fundy Shores National Park in New Brunswick.

The town of Alma is just outside the national park.

On our way to Hopewell Rocks we made a detour to Cape Enrage – just because of the name! What looks like endless beach is actually ocean floor. The beach is very shallow and rocky. Our Ffly girl had the time of her life chasing and running between us for several hundred yards – back and forth as we whistled for her to come!

We got to Hopewell Rocks at a little after low tide and the mudflats are more than impressive.

The next morning we got back there and Daniel Flats were filled with water and the Flower Pot rocks were surrounded by water also. After a couple of hours, the water started receding rapidly.

From the plaques in the park with information about the tides and rocks.

A scenic drive to be enjoyed …

Our next destination, Murray Beach Provincial Park, more than exceeded our exceptions – not that we really had any! The park is extremely spacious with sweeping views across the Gulf of St. Lawrence to Prince Edward Island.  As with all NB provincial parks, no dogs allowed on the beach, but just 2 km down the road we found another empty and endless beach for Ffly to frolic and swim.
